Ferruginous ducks
Doc Duck

Ferruginous ducks (Aythya nyroca)

That day I'd taken my D90 along as well. I had thought I might use it with the tripod, but that really wasn't possible on the little tour boat. And the fz200 has me "spoiled" with that superzoom. But this shot of the Ferruginous Ducks turned out ok. I think I may have one more group shot later that a Ferruginous appears in, but we never got very close to them, in part because the low water levels kept us out of the lakes.

That's not a duck we see coming in too often. Well done on getting this as a Lifer Ann.

Nice work lassie.

Great birds and setting, Ann; I'd guess not easy to keep that equipment steady in a boat
