Finders keepers (Turdus pilaris)

Every year I wonder whether it'll be the Waxwings or the Fieldfares that come for my sargent apples. Usually one or the other species will land mob-handed around mid-October and gobble them all up. I'll often see scouts from one and/or the other species a week or so before, but which team will claim the prize? And will they come on a day with good light so I get some good shots? This year it was the Fieldfares, and their first day of feasting was a rainy one, but not too bad in terms of photo results ... in spite of all the twigs and the grey weather.
