Firecrest
I think this maybe a relation to the one posted by Marian a little while ago, as I found it just down the road between the football stadium and the El Parque Isabel la Catlica in Gijon, Northern Spain. The most difficult bird I have photographed to date as the little darling didnt stop moving for a second and my big sausage fingers trying to operate the camera, didnt make for a very promising combination.
Habitat
evergreen tree??
Location
Gijon Spain
Date taken
2 Jan 2008
Scientific name
Regulus ignicapilla
Super action shot of this Firecrest thanks

Brilliant shot, inspite of the sausage-fingers ;) Goldcrests are just as bad, so I appreciate how good this is :t:

Ah, I know now where you've been after New Year Day! ;) It's a miracle we didn't come across each other, as I've been in that very spot that day!!! o:) Great birding in Gijn in the New Year Day and after!!!

And your acrobatic Firecrest is a wonder, Calvin!!! :t: :t:  They are a nightmare to photograph but very rewarding when we succeed with the camera!!!
