Flighty Lapwings

Flighty Lapwings (Vanellus vanellus)

As I said in yesterday's upload, there wasn't much in the way of close to hand species, but a lot of flight action.

This is just a small section of the Lapwings that took off flew around then settled out of sight. What brought it about I don't know LOL.

This is a huge crop, and I've cut out quite a few individuals, to try and get an image that shows some id-able plumage detail and different wing positions.

Always tough to capture the flying birds, especially the faster ones. Clear, nice in flight shot of this group, Delia!! tfs.

There are fine birds and looks good in flight and on ground. Always nice to meet such flocks.

Thank you for sharing,

Ah, isn't that the way with lapwings. Especially when they're many together, there always seems to be one who spots me long before I see them, so the first I see is them all flying off and landing at the far side of a headland :S Still, they're a sight to see in the air too, aren't they |=)|
