Flotilla of Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos)

... well there was a little duck action for a change that month.

This group of Mallards appeared in the area in front of the hide - just one lady though, and she's got her head down LOL.

Such a shame the light wasn't too good that day.

But for that hard-working lady, the mallards seem to be just chillin'. So I guess "floatilla" is about right ;) They'll drop the extra a when they get to work defending territory.
 
Lovely scene Delia, our Mallards are all moulting and sleeping on the banks of the lagoon!!!
