Fly in
We were looking around us trying to find a Yellowhammer that was singing, when something flew from across the new road and landed in the top of a tree about a hundred yards up the road.

I couldn't make it out in my bins... just a blob and the light was wrong. So with the help of my friend's shoulder I managed a long distance picture. It was quite obvious what it was then of course.

A fine capture of this mysterious finch Delia. Isn't it fun when you photograph a bird with no idea of the ID, and find the answer on the camera display later?

I'm continuing to hope for another here, there having been only one since 2013.
