Foraging foray (Bombycilla garrulus)

Back in November/December I could see that the crab apple berries were gradually disappearing from the bush. But I rarely saw the birds that were eating them. Dec 1 I finally saw a couple of Waxwings, but as soon as they noticed me they took off again. They were quite skittish this Fall, possibly because of the construction work going on in the next garden. Luckily that's pretty much done now. By next Fall the birds should be used to the new building.

A great feeding pose to capture Ann - you're so lucky to have had some beside you this year.
