Fresh from Chile ....an American Kestrel (Falco sparverius)

Long way to add a new bird. The mirrored windows in the hotel let me observe him for a long time and photo came out okay. Was fun watching him eye the weeds below for something to eat.

A Canadian chasing an "American" bird all the way to Chile does seem odd.
Beginning to think one way windows have some advantages especially with skittish raptors. He was 4-5 meters away but completely unaware so I could observe him acting without interference of my presence.
