Frozen Nutty
For once, it was sunny, he was posing on a branch about 5 ft from my window, and my AF camera was cooperating ;)
Also, does anyone know why some of these have a gray/grey cap rather than the usual black?(the one in this pic is grey like it's back, with just a band of black betw head & back, but you can't really tell from this angle, sorry) I haven't been able to find anything in my books or Opus, just wondering if maybe those are juvies or females? As always, thanks for lookin' & your comments!

Gray capped individuals are females, however, all females do not have gray caps, they have normal black-caps like males but are narrower than the male. I believe these gray capped females show up most prevalent in the eastern race. Great capture and a wonderful picture. Well done!
