Shoveler pond a freshwater marsh with some open water surrounded by coastal prairie and marshes at ca. 1 m (3.3) ft elevation.
Location
Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, southwest of Winnie, Chambers County, Texas, USA.

As mentioned, the lighting is very good, gives an almost metallic sheen to the feathers.
 
one of the prettiest ducks, Stanley, as wonderfully illustrated in this superb photo, the details are stunning, a real topper, many tfs!!
