Gadwall pair (Mareca strepera).
Habitat
Cedar Park is situated in the Lampasas Cut Plain vegetation area. Urban business district. An ephemeral creek impoundment (ponds) bisected by Discovery Blvd, the ponds are surrounded by a wide concrete bike and walk path with the pond’s margins lined with Baccharis sp., Solidago sp., King Ranch Bluestem (Bothriochloa ischaemum var. songarica), and large patches of soft-stemmed club-bulrush (Schenoplectus tabernaemontana: Cyperaceae). The club-bulrush being in the water’s edge. The elevation is 285 m (935 ft).
