I park my car beside a gate. My friend usually has put some feed on top of the gate post before I get there.

It proves pretty popular as you can see by this Robin tucking in.

Unfortunately I often have to take the pictures through my windscreen.

A lovely shot Delia. The eye looks large in this shot, in a way that somehow reminds me of flycatchers. Beautiful colour and plumage detail. One of your very best images.

Thanks very much for what you say about Windows Update. I've been wondering if it might be responsible and I won't write this machine off immediately. But my problems aren't limited to browser freezing, eg I can't open folders or shut down the machine normally. I have pics ready to post from my iPad, but its screen makes my eyes more sore than the laptop. But it'll all get sorted eventually.
