Giant Tortoises crossing the road (Chelonoidis nigra)

On our way to visit the tortoise sanctuary in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, our coach had to wait a few minutes while these huge tortoises slowly crossed the road!

They are huge and nicely illustrated Helen!

Glad they didn't get run over.
 
Given the size of them, Helen,
I think that the coach would have
come off the worst in the event of
a collision. Great photo.
