Golden-crowned Sparrow

Golden-crowned Sparrow (Zonotrichia atricapilla)

Hope I got the ID right. This guy is pretty elusive, and jumps deep into the bush if I get too close. As it is, he was hiding a bit behind some branches.

Olympus E-M1ii, Olympus 300mm f/4, MC-14 teleconverter shot at 1/640, f/7.1, ISO 400. Shown at a 1.6x crop, so the effective focal length is 955mm.

Scientific name

Well.... as soon as I saw your pic, I thought Golden-crowned Marc. But don't know if there's a look alike in your area.Thought I don't really think so.

He's gorgeous lad - such a pretty sparrow and a super close-up image you've got of him my friend. Very well done.
