The golden-naped finch (Pyrrhoplectes epauletta) is a species of finch in the Fringillidae family. It is in the is monotypic genus Pyrrhoplectes.
It is found in Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, and Nepal. Its natural habitat is temperate forests.
1315 cm; 19 g. Fairly small, slender, short-winged finch with slightly notched tail. Male is almost entirely jet-black, except for bright orange hindcrown and nape.
Song a rapid and high-pitched "pi-pi-pi-pi", as well as a soft, low, piping "teu teu".
Variety of seeds, including those of nettles, also buds, berries; also small insects. Forages unobtrusively on ground.
