Goldfinch flight

Not too many birds here lately other than the "feeder eaters." So out of boredom, I wanted to try to get a "small bird in flight" shot. Not easy to do with a cheapo bridge camera. lol. But, I managed to get this guy. Unfortunately this time of day the feeder is in shadow. It's not too bad but not all that great either. I'll keep trying.

You've done really well with this WV. I know the problem only too well with trying to get wee ones in flight (or anything in flight if it comes to that LOL) ... it's usually just luck with me if they're recognisable as a bird, let alone a species!!

Nice work lad... keep trying and you'll get the shot you want.

Yet another with a bulging crop ;) And well captured in the shade. I have the same problem here. I think the birds prefer the shade. When the sun's out I watch for a chance of a bright shot with a bird perched in the sunlight among the bright red berries and orangey Fall leaves on the shrub near my feeder, but the few hours there's sun on that shrub, they'll only land deep in cover. Then when the shrub is in the shade, they land right up on top on a berry-laden branch :S
