Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)

Several were feeding in the teasel patch. Not an area that can be approached without been spotted from afar so it's quite heavily cropped.
Location
Cowpen Bewley Woodland Park, Billingham, Cleveland. UK
Date taken
21st October 2008
Scientific name
Carduelis carduelis
Equipment used
Canon 40D+Canon 400mm f5,6
A lovely autumnal feel to this shot Ian. It has all the right elements and teasels are always irresistible, with their spikes and curly bits. A very nice shot.

:bounce: Teasels and berries, what a delightful combination to compose a hungry Goldfinch!!! o:) Excellent picture, Ian, big crop or not!!! :t: :t:

A lovely shot Ian, took some of these myself today, they are just about out of malt now...
