Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)

Part of a mixed flock of around 250 finches that we've ahd around for a few weeks now. It mostly comprises Linnet 60%, Goldfinch 35% and Greenfinch 5%. Every now and again they come a little closer to the footpath as they wheel around the sky over the stubble.

Just the Canon 400mm f5,6. This is a straight crop of 900x675 pixels with some unsharp mask applied and then filtered for noise.
