Goldfinch

I'm sure if these guys were a rare bird, we'd make a lot more fuss about them. I remember when I was young and feeding birds in 70s, they were not a common sight in the garden

I completely agree with you, I remember, as a young boy, seeing a goldfinch was a real treat. Wonderful photo with superb lighting and a gorgeous setting, congratulations, many tfs!!!

Oh my goodness! The focusing, lighting and detail are amazing, Mark; it zings off the screen!

I still feel the same excitement at seeing them as when I was a kid. They are a very striking chirpy little bird that always seem to be tumbling around with a partner.

Lovely picture, great colours. Well done.

.... they're still not a common sight in my garden Mark... I just (if I'm lucky) see them for a few days passing through in the autumn, sometimes with a youngster.

You've a super picture of this beauty lad - very well done and many thanks for showing him to us.
