Gray Fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus)

My husband spotted this one on top of the birdbath in our front garden. We occasionally see them before the sun comes up but I guess this one was thirsty. Of course it took off running when I opened the door.

I guess they usually drink at the lake, but now ...
We crossed Lake Shasta on our way back from Seattle. Really a shock to see it so low :eek!:
