Great Black Wasp (Sphex pensylvanicus: Sphecidae) Male. 2.0-3.5 cm (0.8-1.4 in) long. It was hunting on Peppervine.
Habitat
Urban setting. Floodplain of Carter Creek; edge of a gallery forest at ca. 88 m (289 ft) elevation.
Location
Austins Colony Park, Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, USA.
