Great Bower Bird

Photo of a cock Great Bowerbird enticing his hen to his bower.
This one loves the colour pink. Maybe it matches his pink/ Lilac patch on his nape?

A beautiful shot of this industrious chap!

Marmot, the satin Bowerbirds will settle for yellow if they can't get blue! :-O Some years ago when I lived where there were many Satin Bowerbirds, they would steal my clothes pegs - I used to have to take all the blue ones from each new packet and leave them on a fence post for them, otherwise they would manage to get them off the line, with unfortunate consequences for my washing! :'D Sooner or later, however, they would come for the yellow ones - but not until they had collected every blue object they could find. They never stole any colours other than blue or yellow.

Amazing that after posting this picture this morning, a pair of Great Bowerbirds were in our garden this afternoon!
