Great Egret, Borneo
A Great Egret (Ardea alba) photographed at Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort while I was on a boat ride. This shot was featured in my last vlog Episode 4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrMzPahGnwM).
Location
Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo
Date taken
15-Dec-2020
Scientific name
Ardea alba
Equipment used
Sony A7Riii, Sony FE 200-600mm
Shutter speed, aperture & ISO
1/1600s, F9, ISO 400
Fantastic image Dixonlau - it works very well as black & white. I am surprised more bird photographers don”t try this more often with monochrome plumaged birds. Of course the lighting and focus needs to be spot on as well as the composition as they are here in order for it to work. Thank you.

Usually if possible, I would go for color instead. But this shot just doesn't work well in color as background too distracting with some grasses. And yes, you are right, Egret works quite well in Black & White too. Thanks. ;)

very nice indeed dixonlau....bringing back the old days...wonderful...many thanks....
