Great Frigatebird
Habitat
Island
Location
Galapagos Islands
Date taken
February 26, 2006
Scientific name
Fregata minor
Equipment used
Fujifilm Finepix S602 Zoom
I had one of these Frigatebirds swoop down behind my boat and was amazed at it's size and large wingspan, nice shot. I have not used my s602 for some time, what a great camera, 5fps and 2.8 lens, would still hold its own today.
Best regards
Richard

What a beauty, I saw the magificet frigate birds in Florida and some good shots of the females. One day I hope to get to Galapagos and get shot like this, lucky you

Thank you all for the nice comments. Regarding the S602, I updated to the S9000 and sent the S602 to a friend as a present. I wish I had it back. It was much quicker to focus and had a sharper lens in my opinion. It was also lighter and smaller. As to being lucky enough to go to the Galapagos, I was able to afford that trip because I am still driving the only car I ever bought, an 84 Mazda wich now has 113,500 miles on it. Not having a car payment for 20 years has some advantages, as does taking public transportation to work.
