Great Golden Digger Wasp
Great Golden Digger Wasp (Sphex ichneumoneus: Sphecidae) 1.5-2.5 cm (0.6-1.0 in) long. Foraging on Camphorweed (Pluchea odorata: Asteraceae). Also known as Sweetscent and several other common names.
Habitat
Post Oak Savannah vegetation area, urban setting, flower bed at private residence at 91 m (300 ft) elevation

Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, USA.
