Great Gray Owl (Strix nebulosa)

Reports of a few Great Gray Owls west of Ottawa started trickling in late this winter. A lifer for me, I went out looking for them three times and found one three times. This is my best photo of the species yet, as this individual was sitting in a tree above the road with the sun shining right on him. A thrilling moment for sure!

Congrats on the lifer. It's one of my life list projects. Too bad about the cable running through the image; would have been a top keeper had it not been there. :t::t: :t:

Great capture! So nice to see one each time you went out .. but the sun caught this one just right - really nice.
