Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus)

This is one of two Great Horned Owl nests in Lake Erie Metropark this winter. This one is on the other side of a frozen canal as seen from one of the viewpoints on the boardwalk.

The other one is much higher in a tree near the park entrance.
