Great Southern White
Great Southern White (Ascia monuste: Pieridae) The attractive butterfly has a wing span of 6.3-8.6 cm (2.5-3.4 in). Photographed in the Nosara Biological Reserve, in Nosara, Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. Tropical dry riparian forest along Ro Nosara just inland from the Pacific Ocean at ca. 2 m (6.6 ft) elevation.
