Great-tailed Grackle
A male of this super-abundant, screaming blackbird visiting a water feature and showing its blue iridescence. They were easily the most abundant landbird in the area. Their loud shrieks and brazen demeanor are hard to overlook. They continue to expand their range northward from their original range in Mexico and Middle America. This is presumably the race "Q. m. prosopidicola" which is slightly smaller than nominate. Formerly lumped with the similar Boat-tailed Grackle of the East and Gulf coasts.
