Greater Roadrunner
Greater Roadrunner (Geococcyx californianus) The temperature was barely above freezing but sunny. This roadrunner hopped on the large rock, turned its back facing the sun and pushed its magic button spreading its contour feathers on its back exposing its down feathers and sat soaking up the suns rays.
Habitat
Oak/ashe juniper limestone hilltop at 183 m (600 ft) elevation.
Location
Southeast of Belton, Bell County, Texas, USA.

LOL these really are odd looking birds, aren't they Stanley.... but one I'd be quite keen to see if I ever made it to the States!!!
