Greater Yellowlegs
I am 90% sure that this is a Greater Yellowlegs, but I do admit there is a chance that it is the Lesser Yellowlegs. Because I didn't hear the call I cannot be 100% sure; but the slightly upturned bill, the bi-colored bill, and length of neck in proportion to body makes me almost certain it is a Greater Yellowlegs. If you have an opinion let me know, I'm open to the other possibility. Thanks.

Its a good un BR, would like to see your other shot (Sora), but pic is not available.

Beautiful capture! Love this. I bow to your superior experience as to ID. What a lovely bird.

You got me on the ID, I'll take your word for it! LOL
This is a great shot, with the one leg just coming out of the water!

These guys are sooooo difficult!!! I'd go for the Greater too, the Lesser has a more "delicate" appearance in the head... at least, to my eyes! ;) I don't know if this helps...

Anyway, lovely digiscoped Yellowlegs, super the pose!!! :t: :t: :t:

Thanks Marian, I went out yesterday (because the forum was down anyway) and saw him again, this time he was closer and I could tell that the size made him a Greater... at least I am as sure as I am going to get. Thanks!
