Green Aphid Thingy (???)

Can anyone shed anymore light on what it is?
Oh and it was about 5/6mm long.

I haven't the slightest idea! In fact "green aphid thingy" is more accurate than my own idea on what it is! ;) A nice picture of this unknown guy, anyway (I always fail taking macros of very tiny bugs)! :t: :t: :t: Cheers, Adam!
 
Hi Adam. I think this is a common green capsid - Lygocorus pabulinus but I expect you knew that really... ;) ;)

I recently bought Michael Chinery's 'Collins Complete British Insects' which is full of photos. I just flick through until I find something that looks right. The amazing thing I've found trying to make IDs of insects is just how many there are. Although there are 1500 species in the Chinery book, it only covers a proportion of our native species.
