Mmm.... that rally is a typical stalking pose that the heron family have, isn't it Mike.... and you've captured it beautifully my friend.

Lovely capture of this small heron Mike.

I hope you don't mind the corrections on the ID's but this one is actually an adult Green-backed or Striated Heron, Butorides striata. Slaty Egrets are a uniform slaty grey with completely yellow legs.
