Green-backed White-eye
This is another restricted range species found in the New Caledonia Endemic Bird Area (EBA). It is distinguished from the similar sympatric, more widespread Silvereye (Z. lateralis) by its green back. The generic name comes from the Greek, Zoster = belt and Ops = eye. Thus a belt around the eye.

I've such a soft spot for silver-eyes Joe and this is a right pretty one - not one I've seen before.
