Green-breasted pitta
A very elusive bird. It took us a lot of work to find it, because it already bonded with a mate and wasn't very eager to display.
Habitat
jungle
Location
Kibale Forest, Uganda
Date taken
28/07/2024
Scientific name
Pitta reichenowi
Any idea why wildlife photographers sometimes dislike branches? ;) Well spotted and captured. Usually pretty shy birds. I once saw pitas in Malaysia that were not shy. Local photographers sat at a special place at a certain time of the year and believe it or not, they did show up there. I did not believe it until I saw it. I thought it is a joke with tourists but I was there.
