Green Heron
Green Heron (Butorides virescens virescens) It was eating tadpoles like they were candy. I looked away to find the Yellow-billed Cuckoo I was hearing. When I looked back its throat was enlarged. Obviously it had found something considerably larger than tadpoles to eat.
Habitat
Post Oak Savannah vegetation area, open manicured park with scattered pecan and oak trees with two disjunct riparian woodlands plus Briar Creek at ca. 91 m (300 ft) elevation.
