Green Parrot Snake
Green Parrot Snake (Leptophis ahaetulla: Colubridae) Despite its beauty this species is venomous, aggressive and lighting fast. These snakes can reach lengths of 1.72 m (5 ft 8 in). Photographed along a one lane gravel road leading to the summet of Cerro Toledo, Loja Province, Podocarpus National Park, Ecuador. Eastern slope of the Andes; temperate cloud forest at ca. 2,530 m (8,300 ft) elevation. The summit of Cerro Toledo is 3,150 m (10,335 ft) elevation.

Hi Stanley. Thanks for all your posts re my pics. Re my pic of the Black Headed Python where I said they were a bit snappy. A couple of days ago a snake handler was demonstrating to the public. He handed a chap a BHP and all went well for a minute until it latched on to his hand without warning. Lots of blood. The handler should have known better but there's one born every minute, so they say!!!
