Green-winged Teal

Green-winged Teal (Anas crecca)

I am 80% sure this is a Green-winged Teal female, however there is a possibility that it is a Blue-winged Teal female. Her over-all markings are dark, and she has a pale area on her undertail coverts so I think she is Green-winged... but the light area around the base of the bill cause me to doubt it slightly. Anyone who has an opinion is welcome to comment. Thanks

Ok, thanks bhowdy... now that I can compare the Blue-winged teal you just posted. It does seem obvious that mine is a Green-winged because of that buffy area on the undertail coverts. Thanks!

Great shot Blue ... we get the odd ones this side, of the great divide (because that rhymed. Usually "The Pond")
