Green-winged Teal

Green-winged Teal (Anas carolinensis)

Although I have put this photo in Birds of North America, this particular individual was in Scotland at WWT Caerlaverock. According to Svensson, there are now regular sightings of the species in Europe, suggesting that some are now resident rather than vagrant.

The quality of the image could be better but it was past 6pm on a dark January evening and I was shooting at ISO6400.

That's a great picture you've taken of this scarce visitor Dromo.

An excellent job you did in those conditions - very well done lad.

The Categories are for where the bird was seen and photographed, not their normal range, so I'll change the category shortly.

Many thanks for showing him to us.
