Green Woodpecker

Green Woodpecker (Picus viridis)

This male had found something to eat near the tree (maybe it was an ant colony there?). I had to wait a few minutes, because its head was in the shadow of the tree and the body was in a strong light. The bird was pretty close, so I didn't use the max focal lenght of the lens and the pic seems to be pretty sharp.

A super woody image Cristian. It looks nice and sharp to me too. From the state of its beak, it's been digging for ants. Nice one.
