Greenfinch

Greenfinch (Carduelis chloris)

There was a freshwater puddle close by the reedbed and all sorts of birds came down to it to drink or bathe ( reed bunting, stonechat, chaffinch, greenfinch and pipit). The pipit was great fun because it was a very very enthusiastic bather . It didn't seem to mind if the finches bathed too but it wouldn't let any other pipit come near and would chase it away. The greenfinch didn't splash, it just sat there very quietly.
