This is one of the last photos taken by Rookery. Location Hawke's Bay, NZ. To all his friends and contacts on Bird Forum, I am sorry to have to tell you that Rookery died at his home two weeks ago as a result of a fall. He was 77 years old. A memorial service was held in Havelock North, NZ, on 29 September.

It is a terrible news ... he had written about being unwell, few weeks ago ... Renu and I send our heartfelt condolences to the family ... our thoughts and prayers for him ...
