Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea)

This guy flew over to the reed bed right beside the hide almost as soon as I'd sat down in there.

The closest I've ever been to one. These were the only decent pictures I got that day unfortunately.

Great close-up, Delia! Sometimes they don't fly off. :)
In the winter when it's really cold I get very close sometimes.
 
Lucky you, Delia! But the real deal was to take a good shot when you got the chance, and you certainly did that.
