Grey on Grey (Junco hyemalis)

I took this during the snow storm on Sunday and liked the monochromatic feel of this image. The quiet greys of the Junco and the background with the blur of the falling snow brings back the feeling of sitting outside in the hush of the snowfall. The only sounds were a gentle hiss of the snow coming down, an occasional 'plumf' when a large patch of snow would fall off a tree limb from above and the voices of all the birds having a feed on the sunflower hearts.

I cannot believe you are still getting snow Deanne!
I hope the weather picks up for you soon, this is a real gorgeous shot amidst all the chaos :t::t::t:

I love this image, Deanne! It's a wonderfully evocative snow scene even without your beautiful prose description.

this photo is so special and so christmassy just absolutely lovely.
thank you for sharing with us Deanne.

You are the Junco Specialist, Deanne! (hmmm, maybe that sounds a bit funny). I mean, you take excellent photos of Juncos. But you are the bad weather and low light specialist, too!

A peach of a shot Deanne. I have my own phrase for small birds puffing up, I call it 'golf balling'...but it hasn't caught on.
