Grey Phalarope!

Grey Phalarope!

I have done really well this year with scarce birds =). A grey phal. turned up on my fav. patch, so I rushed down to see it. It kept so close to the edge of the lagoon, you couldnt see it as the edge is covered by a wire fence and reeds. After getting a few ok shots, I waited by a big gap in the reeds - sure enough it payed off, and actually came under the fence into the channel by the path! =) it did this a couple of times, and on the last, I could almost touch it!

Hope you like it,
A very jammy Steve.

Well done you, your patience paid off, a brilliant image and story :t: Mick

Wow! super shot, love the effect of the reeds and the water
Love the bird too! Well done with this capture :t: :t: :t:

Cracking bird and photo, DC. I like the reed reflections too. Well used opportunity. :t:

Thanks scottishdude and martin. I think the 'tameness' is down to the fact that in their breeding/wintering grounds, they hardly ever see people - I could have been one of the first it saw up close =$
