Grey Plover (Pluvialis squatarola)

Grey Plover x45 on the beach this afternoon mixed in with a few Bar-tailed Godwit, Knot, Turnstone, Redshank and Sanderling. The dull weather was the reason for the visit to the beach where it was at least a little brighter.

A wonderful flight shot of this beautiful looking bird. I have only seen them from a distance and I never realised that they have such a lovely shaped head. Very nice indeed Ian.
