Grey Squirrel - Sciurus Carolinensis ( aka - Wretchedus nuisancus ) (Sciurus Carolinensis)

This 'peanut poacher' stopped dead , hesitated then turned tail and ran when it saw me the enforcer of the 'zero tolerance' policy approaching. Probably the wisest move it made that day !
The irritating thing was the fact that it actually hesitated and considered carrying on its quest seen by me as a mark of defiance at the time. You can almost see the thought crossing its mind in this shot !

LOL John.... I just love that alternative scientific name!!! You'll be glad to know that I don't see these very often... well hardly ever. We still get the red ones here.

You've a great picture of this guy lad - very well done.

Cheers Delia and glad you liked it.
I envy you with your reds I really do. I photographed some on the Isle of Wight and they are just how I remember them ..... totally gorgeous !

Excellent picture of another friend of mine in the backyard. I feed these guys peanuts they are a beautiful creature. You ought to travel to Brevard, North Carolina and see the white ones. Thanks for sharing!!

Many thanks Daniel.
I must say I would be happier having our native reds visit me.

The white squirrels sound lovely. We do have the odd colony of black ones in certain parts of the UK
