Groove-Billed Ani (Crotophaga sulcirostris)

This rare bird for our location found me this morning. As I was looking for sparrows the bird flew past me less than 6 ft away into dense cover. It than popped up to the top of the bushes. I watched and photographed the bird for two hours as it moved up and down the beach. Was even able to call some friends who rushed out to see the bird as well. An excellent late Christmas gift.
