When I saw my first Magpie Goose in Edithvale I was excited. I had seen nothing like it before. Then I went to Serendip Sanctuary and although my bird book (Jim Flegg) states they are found in the North I saw a large number of them here. Might this be considered unusual?

Apparently they used to be fairly common in Vic. but that was before white settlement.

A great shot BROC, I can't wait to get back to Ballarat so that I can visit Serendip.
