Gulf Fritillary
Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae: Nymphalidae) Nectaring Lantana. A common butterfly of the southern US from southern California east to the East Coast of the USA. I was surprised to find it in Ollantaytambo, Per at high elevation. Apparently a fairly common species there.
Habitat
Urban setting in disturbed semi-humid montane scrub situated in the Sacred Valley at 2,792 m (9,160 ft) elevation. Manicured grounds.
